Goal As A Positive Statement

Is a goal something that we should think of just for a second?

One common mistake many people make is that they don't think of their goals on a constant basis. Normally, when they are asked what their goal is, that's the only time they think of it. Then years pass and the goal they thought of is never achieved.

A Goal is a personal positive statement of something you wish to achieve. Rather than write out a goal and put it away you should put your goal somewhere that you will see it every day. This helps remind you of your goal and why you do what you do every day - to get closer to the goal.

Here is what I have learned over the many years that I have been setting goals. YOU SHOULD BE EXCITED IN ATTAINING IT. Unless we are excited about it, then it is not a goal that will keep us motivated. How often have you been excited to accomplish a goal that didn't even sound good when you brought it up?

If you are not excited in achieving it, it make take longer to achieve it, or you may not achieve it at all.

A goal needs to fill us with passion. That it makes our mind day dream always while thinking of it.

When you have a personal goal that motivates helps us when we face difficult problems. It makes us hard working. It is a topic that we always share with our family and friends. It creates us a positive mindset. And sometimes it make us cry whenever we think that it is impossible. This is a true goal!

Your personal goal, is not an impossible thing to attain. It is not a fairy tale that you are thinking. It is a statement that will dictate what your future will look like.

In you don't see yourself in that goal now. Stop it! Think of a statement where you possibly see yourself in the future. That would be your GOAL!

Setting Smart Goals in 2009

Are you ready to set goals for 2009?
It's time to start setting your goals for 2009 now. A lot of people don't set goals until early or mid January - Start now and you'll be ahead of everyone else.

Every year people think about what they want to change in their life and they usually start thinking about this on New Year's Eve or New Years day, and guess what - this is the worst time to think about making any changes!

Everyone is out, having a great time, saying they are going to change this, or loose that, etc, but then the next morning they either wake up and can't remember their "resolutions" or just decide it was a silly idea!

Like planning a holiday you need time to set your goals. You can't just rush into setting a goal, once night and then begin to make changes right away. You have to plan your goals.

The secret to good goal setting is to write a very specific goal statement.

Let's take two examples:

I want to give up smoking

I want to become healthier and be able to run for a bus without out getting out of breath. I will be a smoke free by June 2009.Looking at both statements which is more compelling? In my opinion the second one. Why? Because it's specific and gives a benefit - being healthier and not being out of breath after general exercise.

The first statement is very general - it is also stated in the negative. Research shows that the sub-conscious brain does not like to give up things. Think about when you decide to go on a diet. What does a diet mean? Going without something. Of course if you're told you can't have something what happens - you want to do it more than ever. If you decide you can't eat chocolate you will want it more.

So don't set yourself up to fail with your goals in 2009, set positive goals. Another thing about the second goal is it has a time frame - June 2009. Now you have a deadline that you need to accomplish your goal by.

Barriers in Reaching Your Potential

Do you find that you are striving to move forward, but somehow getting nowhere? You try what you can and yet you don't make progress? What could be happening is that you have put up barriers to reaching your potential but you may not be even aware of it.

This is common for many people, yet few realize it. A lot of what you need to do to overcome these barriers or obstacles is very simple. Much of it comes from changing how you think and altering your mindset.

The most common barrier to reaching your potential is your mindset - what and how you think about yourself and what you wish to achieve. Do you realize that we are the only people that limit ourselves? We limit ourselves by the negative thoughts we think and say to ourselves. If you think and believe that you cannot accomplish something, then that will come true and you will fail. However, when you think that you can accomplish a task or overcome a situation, and you put in the effort, you will succeed. Remember you can't simply hope something will come true, or simply say to yourself I will succeed, I will succeed and things will happen - you have to take control and take action.

I often hear people say they have failed in the past or things have not worked out for them so they are bound to fail if they try again. This is simply an excuse. Because you failed in the past does not mean you will fail again. You should think of things that happened in the past in terms of what you can learn from them. See everything as feedback rather than failure. What will dwelling on past events achieve for you? Will it make you better? Will it serve to make you feel worse? Think about this. The past is only good so we can learn from our mistakes - it serves very little other purpose. The past is over and done with we can't change it, only learn from it.

Negativity can really stop you from reaching your potential. Believe it or not negativity is more prevalent than positivity. Negative influences are all around - in the newspaper on the radio and on TV. Not only this sometimes we get negative messages from family, friends, and co-workers who are stuck in a negative mindset and believe they are helping you by "being realistic" when in fact they are not helping at all. Mixing too much with these people will only serve to bring you down, rather than lift you up. The best thing you should do when reaching your potential is to Surround yourself with like minded people who are also striving for success. Positive successful people like to help other people achieve success too. Having positive support is very important.

One thing that stops many people from reaching their potential and being successful is that they lack a plan. I am always amazed at how people can plan their summer holidays for months, yet when they are asked what plans do they have for life and what goals have they set they simply look at you with a blank face! Too many people go through life simply taking what is handed to them. They let others make their decisions for them. Never do they set out goals and plan for the weeks or months ahead. It is essential that you take the time to set out goals, figure out how to reach those goals, and make a timeline for success. This process is vitally important but is often ignored.

Remember, you can overcome your obstacles, if you believe that you can. If you set goals, create a timeline for success, have positive support, and strive for excellence you can overcome any barrier and reach your full potential.

To Succeed, Analyze Your Failures

Failures are not just bad memories, they are also future encouragements. People do rely on learning from people who have succeeded.

Lately I was deeply amazed about certain thoughts I had in my mind. In achieving success, we can possibly focus on the "don'ts" instead of following the "do's". Is it confusing? To make it clearer, I'm sure you have read about the Do's and Don’ts in achieving success. But normally we only give attention to the Do's. We exert effort on following what other people say, hoping that it will truly put us in the success level we are dreaming of, right? There is nothing wrong with that, and I guess most of the people are just like you, they focus on the Do's. One thing I want to impart to you is that you need to balance the success process. There will be times that you will face failures no matter how you avoid it.

How about the Don'ts, do you give attention to that? I still remember a basketball commentator who says that" Defense is the Best Offense" which means that if any basketball team stopped and defended their court, and then they would probably to face a "win". In business, the same thing holds true. Instead of exerting too much effort to achieve success, why not avoid those mistakes that normal businesspeople commit? An example is internet marketing. Marketers talk about several money making ways to earn, but hidden from those principles are failures they commit. Believe me, most internet marketers do commit mistakes before they get things right!

Don't merely believe on the success tips they are giving. Analyze their failures and avoid doing those. For sure, avoiding those possibly failures can make you successful .

What Is Business Coaching?

Coaching is when a certain person has a problem to solve and there goes another person who gives right advices. Not all people can give good advices because not all people knows how to listen. A coach is someone who you can talk to conversationally without feeling intimidated. Coach are individuals who you can count on not only with regards to personal matters but also in success and business factors.

Coaching is not just about giving future advices. Coaching is a much deep process of giving advice. It is about getting into the persons life by asking about their pasts. In finding a good coach, you need to understand that coaches should function as a friend, as a mentor, someone who you can truly trust. Believe me, you should not find a hire a coach whom you don't trust because there will be no much on that.
